2007 Legislation Advances Coastal Protection and Projects

Louisiana DNR Secretary Scott Angelle announced today the success of three major bills aimed at reinforcing the state's energy infrastructure and rebuilding coastal wetlands. ● $147.3 million budgeted for coastal restoration projects (HB 765) ● Approval of the Comprehensive Master Plan for a Sustainable Coast and approval of the budget for Fiscal Years 2007 and 2008 (SCR 11 and 12) ● Creation of the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Financing Corporation aimed at leveraging future income from the federal 2006 Energy Act (SB 53)
